Toadstool are a metal band based out of the Forest of Dean. They got in touch with Hunting Town a few months prior to the release of their first major album. The band had plenty of ideas for the album, but no real concept of how to bring them together into a finished design.
They felt really strongly that wild boars should take pride of place in the design as these are a common sight in the Forest of Dean, but also wanted something very gritty and modern about the look.
What we settled on was a two tone image of a boar to take a pride of place on the front cover, with subsequent boars drawing only in shadow littering the rest of the album. Because the band had no professional photos, a selection of amateur photos were used for the inside cover and knitted together with an ink splattered effect that was reproduced over the entire album giving the whole thing a real sense of texture. A new logo for the band was also developed and delivered in high resolution for any kick drums or banners the band may want in the future.
